HYDERABAD: Nearly a year after sleuths from the drug enforcement agencies and Sangareddy police uncovered an Alprazolam racket, resulting in the arrest of six individuals, EAGLE officials have stated that they have seized properties worth Rs 30 crore belonging to the accused, acquired using proceeds of the crime.The six arrested, Girmagouni Sudheer, Bishweswar Singh, Rajeshwar Sharma Joshi, Girmagouni Srivani, Bhavanigari Prabhu Vara Goud, and Gajjala Srishailam Goud, were found in possession of 1,090 grams of Alprazolam, which constitutes a commercial quantity.“Subsequent follow-up action revealed that the accused, along with their associates and relatives, had acquired several movable and immovable assets in their names using the illicit earnings from Alprazolam trafficking,” officials said.
The assets identified include 46.18 acres of agricultural land, a 217 square yard open plot, a chemical factory, a residential villa, and four vehicles. The govt-assessed value of these properties is ₹6 crore, while their market value stands at ₹30 crore. The property attachments were carried out underNDPS Act, with confirmation from competent authority in Chennai.
