After a three-year conscious break, Amal Sehrawat is ready to return to acting, this time with a clearer sense of purpose. The actor, who last shot in December 2022, stepped away from the camera to build financial stability beyond the industry. He says, “I had been shooting continuously before the break, so I genuinely needed that pause. At the same time, it was important for me to create an alternate source of income. During this time, I developed two hotels in Gurugram and have now leased them out, so I am not involved in their day-to-day operations. This gives me the freedom to focus entirely on acting. Financial independence allows me to choose roles based on creative satisfaction rather than necessity.
I now feel more secure and focused on the kind of work I truly want to do.”Amal, who made his film debut with Satya 2, is now keen to explore uncharted territory as an actor. He shares, “I am drawn to roles that challenge me and push me out of my comfort zone. I want to explore characters that offer a glimpse into lives, mindsets, and circumstances I haven’t experienced before. Preparing for such roles is an exciting process because it helps me grow both as an actor and as an individual.”
Talking about recent developments in the industry, he says, “The last few months have been very exciting, especially after the release of Dhurandhar. It has introduced new faces in strong roles and reinforced the idea that content is key. It also challenged the perception that sequels are usually weaker than the original. My heartfelt congratulations to Aditya Dhar, Ranveer Singh, Rakesh Bedi, and the entire team.”Although based in Delhi, Amal believes location is no longer a constraint. He says, “Everything has become digital. Auditions happen online, and if things move forward, Mumbai is just a two-hour flight away. I am open to travelling as required. I am not in a hurry. This phase has given me clarity, stability, and a fresh perspective. I am now looking forward to taking on work that truly excites and challenges me.”
