Amazon is ready to enter the AI agent race in a big way, here's what this means

Amazon is set to enter the AI agent market in a significant way with a new

AI-powered workspace software

called

Quick Suite

. According to internal documents viewed by Business Insider (BI), the company is testing a new software designed to help businesses make decisions faster by providing tools for insights, research, and automation. The latest product is currently in a private preview with several companies, and the US-based e-commerce major has recently sent out invitations for an internal beta test for the same. This move gives the tech giant another opportunity to gain a foothold in the growing enterprise software market. In its beta test invitation (as seen by BI), Amazon wrote: "With over 40% of business users expected to adopt AI-enhanced work environments soon, AWS is positioned to lead this shift by providing integrated solutions that help organisations — including our own — effectively deploy and scale AI agents in the workplace.”

What Amazon said about its Quick Suite software and what it means

In a statement, an Amazon spokesperson also said: “We are seeing strong growth of Amazon Q Business with customers like Remitly, Nasdaq, and Smartsheet, along with partners like Zoom and Asana, adopting it to provide employees with generative AI assistance to transform how work gets done. Similarly, we are seeing customers like BMW and GoDaddy embrace Amazon QuickSight in order to make data-driven decisions quickly. We're building on this strong response with even more innovation to help customers realise the benefits of agentic AI in the workplace.”

Amazon’s Quick Suite is a software package that combines existing

AWS tools

like the QuickSight data analysis platform and the Q Business AI chatbot, while introducing a new product called Quick Flows, according to internal documents.

Quick Flows

offers pre-built workflows that allow users to automate tasks with natural language prompts. The suite will also feature a "

deep research agent

" capable of generating reports from internal and external data, and will enable organisations to create and share custom agents tailored to specific business needs.Amazon has invited a limited group of beta testers and given a private preview to at least 50 companies, including BMW, Intuit, and Koch Industries. While the product was initially expected to launch in mid-July, the target has been delayed to September.Feedback so far has been mixed: testers welcomed its more straightforward setup, more intuitive design, and the deep research tool, along with integrations such as Jira, the report added. However, some reported difficulties with networking restrictions in cloud environments and strict permission requirements for data connections. The move places Amazon in direct competition with Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Salesforce, and others developing similar tools. Quick Suite also represents another attempt by Amazon to strengthen its position in the enterprise software (SaaS) market, where it has had less impact compared to its cloud business.
