LUCKNOW: Union home minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest at a grand appointment letter distribution ceremony on Sunday for 60,244 newly recruited constables of the Uttar Pradesh Police. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the event, which marks a significant step in strengthening the state’s law enforcement.DGP Rajeev Krishna reviewed preparations ahead of the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Talking to reporters, Krishna said that the event will witness participation from ministers, MLAs, senior bureaucrats, and media representatives. "Recruits from all 75 districts of the state will gather for the large-scale programme.
Comprehensive logistical arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth arrival of candidates, especially those from distant districts, who will halt at designated intermediate locations before reaching the venue," said the DGP.Following the distribution of appointment letters, the recruits will undergo formal police training and be inducted as integral members of the Uttar Pradesh Police Force, he said.
Sources said Shah will reach Lucknow on June 15 at around 12.05 pm and at the venue at around 12:30 pm. He will be at the event for about an hour and then leave for Delhi.A total of 60,244 constables, including 12,048 women recruits, were recruited by the UP Police recruitment and promotion board (UPPRPB), which received more than 48 lakh applications for 60,000 posts. The recruitment process was completed under Rajeev Krishna as the director of the UPPRPB after the removal of the previous director, Renuka Mishra, following the question paper leak.
