Actor Ansiba Hassan will approach Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan seeking an impartial police inquiry into the case against actor Tiny Tom for allegedly making defamatory and communal remarks against her.

The Kadavanthra police had registered the case against Mr. Tom on July 1, 2026. Ms. Hassan earlier moved the court after the police had refused to register a case based on her petition on June 20, 2026 following a preliminary investigation.

Ms. Hassan said on Monday (July 6, 2026) that she “has doubts” over whether the Kadavanthra police will conduct a fair probe as she had to leave after waiting for nearly one hour at the station on July 4 to submit her statement. She was asked by the police officials to turn up at the station at 5 p.m on Saturday to submit her statement. She left the premises along with her lawyer after the officials did not turn up to record her statement. She said she will write to the Chief Minister, seeking a fair probe.

Police say were held up

Meanwhile, senior officials at the Kadavanthra station said they were held up with the remand of an accused and recording of a statement in another case. The officials said they had informed the actor about the delay and had requested her to wait for some more time.

Mr. Tom was booked on charges including insulting the modesty of a woman, criminal conspiracy, spreading false information, and other non-bailable offences.

Ms. Hassan, in her petition, had challenged the police decision not to file an FIR based on her complaint despite being continuously subjected to alleged harassment, obscene remarks, gender-based insults and communal comments, including imputations regarding her parentage, family life and religious identity.
