US Open title holder Aryna Sabalenka eyes her fourth career Grand Slam crown as she takes on Amanda Anisimova in the final of the 2025 edition at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Saturday.

The 27-year-old Belarusian, Sabalenka, who got the better of Jessica Pegula in the final of the previous edition, looks to double down on her triumphant run at the Flushing Meadows against another American opponent in Anisimova.

Sabalenka will be participating in her third major title match of 2025, all against American opponents. She previously lost to Madison Keys at the Australian Open in January and to Coco Gauff at the French Open in June.

Last year, Sabalenka defeated an American, Jessica Pegula, in the final in New York and aims to become the first woman since Serena Williams (2012-2014) to win consecutive U.S. Open titles.

At Wimbledon in July, Sabalenka exited in the semifinals against Anisimova, who holds a 6-3 head-to-head advantage over their careers.

Anisimova, 24, was born in New Jersey and raised in Florida. After defeating Sabalenka at the All England Club, Anisimova lost her first Slam final to Iga Swiatek with a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline.

Despite that setback, Anisimova recovered quickly and even watched that match a day before facing six-time major champion Swiatek again in the U.S. Open quarterfinals, where she won in straight sets. She then defeated four-time Slam winner Naomi Osaka in the semifinals to reach her second consecutive major final and the second of her career.

As a teenager, Anisimova won the 2017 junior title at the U.S. Open and reached the French Open semifinals as a pro two years later at 17. In 2023, she took a break from the tour due to burnout, and when she returned, her ranking was outside the top 350.

A year ago, she was still around No. 50, but her breakthrough run at Wimbledon propelled her into the top 10, and she is seeded No. 8 this week.
