The Andhra Pradesh excise police arrested two people and seized a large quantity of narcotics worth about Rs 1.2 crore. Officials said the team confiscated 30 kg of hashish oil and 11.5 kg of marijuana during the operation. Three motorcycles and two mobile phones were also taken into custody.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Korra Somara (35) and Chandra Khillo (18). Police added that two others, Khillo Prasad and Korra Lokesh, are absconding and a search is underway to track them.
The seized vehicles include a Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-i, a Bajaj Pulsar 125, and a Hero HF Deluxe. Officers also recovered a POCO C61 and a Realme P1 5G mobile phone from the suspects.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Kumar and ASR District Excise Superintendent G Gaurishwar Rao. Police presented the arrested individuals before the court and said investigations are continuing to apprehend the remaining suspects and uncover the wider supply network.
A few weeks ago, the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) team in Hyderabad uncovered an illegal Alprazolam manufacturing unit inside Medha School in Bowenpally. Officials arrested owner Malela Jaya Prakash Goud and seized 3.5 kg of finished tablets, 4.3 kg of semi-processed drugs, raw materials, equipment, and Rs 21 lakh cash.
Jaya Prakash reportedly teamed with Guruvareddy, who supplied the formula for production. The operation supplied toddy depots in Boothpur and Mahabubnagar areas. Investigations are ongoing to trace accomplices and the wider distribution network.
