Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is likely to visit Pulivendula, the constituency represented by YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, in December.

Though the itinerary is yet to be cleared, the tentative schedule of the Chief Minister’s visit to Kadapa district includes Pulivendula, according to the district officials.

As the water grid is set to be ready by December 15, it is expected that the Chief Minister will formally inaugurate the project meant to supply drinking water to the households of Pulivendula municipality. Mr. Naidu will also participate in the annual Gandikota festival.

Morale booster

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is leaving no stone unturned to make the event big by boosting the morale of the cadre.

Pulivendula constituency in-charge Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy, popularly known as ‘B.Tech’ Ravi, who is on cloud nine after getting his spouse Mareddy Latha Reddy elected as Pulivendula ZPTC member, has now set his eyes on wresting the municipality from the YSRCP fold.

Much ahead of the municipal elections, the TDP has started inviting neutral public as well as the sulking cadre belonging to the YSRCP into its fold.

“The municipality, which has given two Chief Ministers to the State, is still reeling under a drinking water crisis. It is the TDP-led NDA regime that has finally solved the decades-old problem,” Mr. Ravi said on Friday, while admitting into the party several educated and neutral public, all residents of Y.S. Raja Reddy Street in Pulivendula town.

This is the third such programme to be held in the last 10 days to attract the neutral voters into the party. The party cadre has already started taking the ward-wise list to identify neutral and influential public into the TDP.

“Startled at the exodus, the YSRCP leadership is now trying to appease the second rung leadership, with a plea not to leave the party,” Mr. Ravi remarked.
