Andhra Pradesh: Drunk man bites off snake’s head after being bitten; sleeps beside it

TIRUPATI: In a bizarre and disturbing incident, a man bitten by a venomous snake retaliated by biting off the snake's head in a drunken rage near Chiyyavaram village in Thottambedu mandal of Tirupati district.

With the poison spreading in his body, the man, identified as Venkatesh, is now battling for life in a government hospital.According to locals, Venkatesh was heavily intoxicated while returning home late on Thursday night when he was bitten by a black krait. Enraged and under the influence of alcohol, he reportedly caught the snake and bit off its head, killing it. He then carried the dead snake home, placed it beside his bed, and fell asleep. By early Friday morning, his condition worsened due to the venom spreading through his body. His family rushed him to the government area hospital in Srikalahasti, where he was given first aid before being shifted to SVRR government general hospital in Tirupati for advanced treatment.Doctors said his condition remains critical. The incident had left residents of Chiyyavaram shocked, with many describing it as both horrifying and unbelievable.
