Chief Commissioner of State Tax Babu A. has announced that the net GST collections for October 2025 were the second highest ever for the month at ₹3,021 crore despite reductions in tax rates on several goods and the removal of cess on sin goods.

Gross GST collections for the month reached ₹3,490 crore, which is the third highest ever for October.

“For seven consecutive months (i.e. April - October 2025), net GST collections have exceeded those of the same months in the previous financial year, indicating steady and sustained growth in economic activity and consumption in the State,” Mr. Babu noted.

He mentioned that net GST collections rose by 8.77%, demonstrating robust performance despite a decline in tax rates on several goods.

The growth in GST collections was despite a rate reduction on major consumer essentials, consumer durables, pharmaceuticals, and cement, as well as the withdrawal of GST on life insurance and medical insurance due to the implementation of GST 2.0 reforms.

GST compensation cess has been withdrawn on all liable items except tobacco and tobacco products. The revenue collected in October 2025 related to business transactions conducted in September 2025.

Increased consumption, driven by rate reductions, strategic policy initiatives, and enhanced compliance mechanisms, contributed to the State’s sustained revenue growth, making October 2025 the third highest-grossing October since the implementation of the GST regime in 2017.

State GST (SGST) collections reached ₹1,247 crore in October 2025, marking an impressive 6.20% increase over the same month in 2024. This rise reflected improved consumption patterns across sectors, effective tax administration, and strengthened enforcement mechanisms.

Compared to October 2023, SGST collections grew by 13.42%, demonstrating consistent year-on-year growth.

The State received ₹1,773 crore through Integrated GST settlement in October 2025, which was a 10.65% rise over October 2024. It highlighted effective monitoring systems, timely reconciliations, and efficient settlement mechanisms adopted by the government.
