Andhra student dies by suicide, police cites affair, family blames college

Tension has gripped Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor, following the suicide of an engineering student. On Wednesday, Rudra Murthy, a student at Seetams College, died after jumping from the third floor of the college building. The incident led to an outbreak of protests in front of the college.

As per sources, the protest broke out due to a scuffle between the local police and the family of the deceased student. The police claimed that Murthy died because of his ‘failed’ affair with a girl. However, the family refuted the claims, saying that Murthy was not involved in any relationship that led to the fatal consequence.

Instead, the family fired their shots at the college administration. They claimed that the management was pressuring Murthy, and as a result, the victim decided to take the extreme step. As a result, they started protesting in front of the college.

A video that went viral on social media added more fuel to the fire. It showed that while handling the protests by the victim’s family, the local circle inspector pushed one of the relatives. This intensified the protests, and the relatives are now demanding that the management address the incident, citing proper reasons behind the incident.
