Reports suggest Aneet replaces Kiara Advani
Recent reports claim that Aneet Padda has replaced Kiara Advani in the lead role of the upcoming horror comedy 'Shakti Shalini'.According to a Pinkvilla report, “Aneet Padda has been in discussions for Shakti Shalini for the last two months, as Dinesh Vijan was on the lookout to infuse his universe with new energies.
He loved Aneet’s work in Saiyaara, and has decided to mount the next chapter of horror comedy universe on her.” If true, this would be a huge step forward for Aneet, moving from a heartfelt romance in 'Saiyaara' to the quirky world of horror comedy.
Look test and direction talks are underway?
The report further stated that Aneet has already undergone her look test for the film. Shooting is expected to start towards the end of 2025.The report added, “Shakti Shalini is expected to begin towards the end of 2025. While the director’s name has been kept under wraps for now, Dinesh Vijan is keen to rope in Aditya Sarpotdar (Munjya fame) for the part. However, the final call on direction will be taken in a fortnight.”
Production house films denies confirming any casting news
Just as fans were celebrating the news, the production house behind the project, came forward with a statement. Their post on Instagram put the brakes on all the speculation.The statement read, “While we truly value the excitement around our horror-comedy universe, we want to make it absolutely clear that any reports regarding the casting of the upcoming chapters, including Shakti Shalini and Maha Munjya, are purely speculative. We urge the media to avoid misinformation and to wait for official announcements from.”At this point, there is no official confirmation about whether Aneet has actually signed on or not.
