Angel Reese issues a sincere apology after publicly criticizing her team Chicago Sky for a lack of good players

Angel Reese issued an apology for her earlier comments on the Chicago Sky. The player is not happy with her team and wants certain changes within the structure. Reese’s opinion received backlash both from the team and the fanbase.

Mainly because the grievances were made public instead of being discussed with the team on a personal level. Following the backlash, Reese issued an apology for her remarks on the team.

The Chicago Sky defeated the Connecticut Sun by a huge margin. Angel Reese racked up 18 points with 13 rebounds and 4 assists. While she added to the huge margin, it was her apology during the postgame conference that caught everyone’s attention.

The star player apologized for her previous remarks on the team’s structure and functioning. Reese believed that the front office was not doing a great job handling free agency last offseason.

She also stated that Courtney Vandersloot was not young enough to lead the offence, and the head coach, Tyler Marsh, needs to bring certain improvements in handling the team.When asked if she is frustrated during the postgame conference, Reese replied, “I don't think I’m frustrated.

I probably am frustrated with myself right now.” She further added, “I think the language was taken out of context, and I really didn't intentionally mean to put down my teammates, because they've been through this with me throughout the whole year. They've busted their a** just like how I've busted my a**. They've showed up for me through thick and thin in the locker room when nobody could see anything.

”

Towards the end, Reese concluded saying, “I want to apologize to my teammates, which I already have, about the article and how it was misconstrued, about what was said.

I just have to be better with my language because I know it's not the message, it's the messenger. And understanding what I say can be taken any type of way. So I just have to really be better and grow from this.”

Fans react to Angel Reese’s apology

The apology garnered massive reactions from the fans. Most of the fans supported her previous comments about bringing a change to the team roster. A fan with the username Moreno.glizz commented, “You good mama .. we got your bacc, no need to apologize 💙”Another fan named Antroknot_H wrote, “You don’t wanna see ppl lose their jobs but that coach has to go.”

Apoonaftadark supported Reese and commented, “She’s right though.. @chicagosky does need to add some very good players around Reese and Cardoso”Craigstreet added itself to the list of supporters. The fan wrote, “She said nothing wrong , she’s the best player on the team by far and she hates losing . She wants the team to go far . Sports media has intentionally villainized this woman since that championship game vs Iowa .”A section of fans still believes that Reese was right.
