Dario Amodei, the CEO of California-based AI safety and research firm Anthropic met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, as the company set to expand its presence in India.

"We're looking forward to growing our Indian team and supporting India's AI ecosystem as it develops the next generation of dynamic companies," the company said.

Earlier this week, Anthropic, the AI startup backed by Alphabet’s Google, announced plans to open its first office in India next year to tap into the country’s rapidly growing demand for AI solutions. The company said its first Indian office will be located in Bengaluru.
