Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday targeted the Congress for its anti-reform mindset, blaming the party for defeating the Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha.
In his address to the nation, PM Modi alleged that the Congress has never worked for the benefit of ordinary Indians and has always placed its self-interest over the nation's interests.
"The Congress has crushed the women's reservation bill through its negative politics," he said.
PM Modi's attack on the Congress came a day after a Constitutional Amendment to implement 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state Assemblies failed to pass in the lower House of the Parliament.
