If I make a perfume dedicated to Mumbai it would be called Masala Chai and would gift it to Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh and Antina Ricci

Antina Ricci recently visited India. As the Founder and CEO of Maison Des Parfums, she was in Mumbai to launch their latest fragrance, Miami Shake. This trip marked her return to India after many years.

Reflecting on her visit, Antina shared, “I remember traveling across India as a child—from Mumbai to Delhi to Kerala. Mumbai has changed so much since then, and I must say, the city is moving in the right direction.” During her stay, Antina indulged in Indian cuisine and couldn’t stop praising the tandoor dishes. “I had tandoor lobster with malai, and it was absolutely delicious,” she said. Originally from France, Antina was asked to describe the scents of Mumbai upon her arrival.

She responded, “Mumbai has a musky aroma. I’m glad to see such a deep appreciation for perfumes here. If I were to create a fragrance dedicated to Mumbai, it would feature notes of wood and oudh.” Curious about what she would name this Mumbai-inspired perfume and who she’d gift it to, Antina smiled and said, “I think I’d call it Masala Chai. And as for who I’d gift it to—it has to be Ranveer Singh.” Before signing off, Antina reflected on her passion for perfumes: “I began my journey in the fashion industry, so to me, a perfume is like an invisible dress. It can change your mood and even make you smile.”
