Anushka Sarkate and Nikkhhil Chavaan tie the knot

Actors Anushka Sarkate and Nikkhhil Chavaan, known for their roles in the Marathi TV show Karbhari Laybhari, tied the knot on Wednesday in Mumbai. In a grand ceremony attended by family, friends and peers from the Marathi industry, the actors, who first met on the sets of their show five years ago, celebrated their relationship and put a ring on it.

The wedding festivities began with a haldi ceremony followed by sangeet.The sangeet was a starry affair with actors like Siddharth Jadhav, Kiran Gaikwad and Akshay Waghmare in attendance. Kratex turned DJ for the sangeet, blasting Marathi house music and mixes that got everyone grooving.

Speaking about their relationship, Anushka said at the ceremony that they went from friends to couple over a period of time. She also shared an interesting anecdote on how Nikkhhil speaks to her father more than her. "Long back when our serial was on air, we had appeared on a show together and I had said how I would marry the person that my father approves of. Nikkhhil, unknown to me, had been conversing with my dad since then! I think the best part in all this is we are friends first and we know each other very well," she said.
