The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), Visakhapatnam Regional Office, will organise a series of competitions for school students on June 4 as part of World Environment Day celebrations.
According to an official release, the theme for World Environment Day 2026 is “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future”, with a focus on collective action to eliminate plastic waste and promote sustainable practices.
Elocution, essay writing, drawing and quiz competitions will be held at the APPCB office in Madhavadhara VUDA Colony from 9 a.m. Students from Classes I to VI can participate in the junior category, while those studying in Classes VII to X will compete in the senior category. A special parent–child creative duo event is also been planned.
The competitions will cover themes including circular economy, plastic pollution, environmental awareness and sustainable living. Interested students may register by contacting 99086 67273, 98851 35582 or 77801 64110, the release said.
