APSRTC rolls out health checks after rise in staff deaths

Expressing concern over the rising mortality among drivers and conductors of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), its Vice-Chairman and Managing Director N. Bala Subramanyam has directed officials to take focussed measures to safeguard employees’ health.

Nearly 300 APSRTC employees died in the last one year, prompting the authorities to convene a series of review meetings to assess the situation. It was subsequently decided to conduct annual medical check-ups for all employees, while drivers and conductors would undergo medical examinations once every six months.
