Panaji: Researchers, students, and history buffs can now access archival documents faster with the newly approved rates for reprographic services at the department of archives.
The new rates apply specifically to urgent reproduction requests and ensure that services are delivered within one working day.Under the revised structure, a scanned certified copy of the official gazette on A4 size paper will be provided on an urgent basis at a charge of Rs 100 per page. For those who do not require official certification, a scanned copy of the official gazette— either on A4 size paper or transferred to the applicant’s USB or pen drive— will be made available at a reduced cost of Rs 50 per image or page.
Additionally, scanned copies of rare books published before 1961 can be obtained on an urgent basis for Rs 50 per image or per page, with the option of receiving the content either in print or via the applicant’s own storage device.“It shall be at the discretion of the department of archives to issue the particular copies depending upon the condition and legibility of the documents or records,” the notification issued on Thursday read.The initiative is particularly beneficial for those engaged in time-sensitive research and academic work.
