A dispute over money escalated into a violent clash between two groups in Sector 10 late on Wednesday night, leaving one man with a bullet injury in his leg and two vehicles damaged
Gurgaon: A man was shot in the leg after a group of armed men allegedly barged into an office in Sector 10 and opened fire during a confrontation over a financial dispute of Rs 1.6 lakh on Wednesday around 10.30 pm.The victim, Sikandar, filed a complaint alleging his friend Ashish had a monetary dispute with Arjun Sahu, an LLB student. Earlier, around 8.30 pm, Arjun allegedly threatened Ashish over the matter at his office.Later, while Sikandar and others were present at Ashish’s office in Sector 10, a group of men arrived and demanded that Ashish be brought outside. When those present tried to calm the situation and suggested resolving the matter through discussion, the visitors allegedly started abusing them.During the altercation, one of the accused allegedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire, with a bullet hitting Sikandar in the leg. The attackers then fled from the spot, leaving two vehicles behind.The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he underwent treatment. Based on his complaint, a case was registered at Sector 10 police station under Sections 191(2) (rioting), 191(3) (rioting while armed with a deadly weapon or any object likely to cause death), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 109 (attempt to murder), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of BNS and under relevant sections of the Arms Act.
Vikas, 35, a resident of Samalkha in Panipat, who allegedly fired the shot, and Arjun Sahu, 20, a resident of Bhimgarh Kheri in Gurgaon, were arrested.Police said efforts are under way to identify and apprehend the remaining accused. Further investigation is in progress.
