Armed robbers open fire at Khazana Jewellery in Hyderabad; staffer injured

HYDERABAD: Armed robbers barged into the Khazana Jewellery store at Chandanagar on Tuesday morning and opened fire in an attempted heist. One of the workers sustained a bullet injury to his leg and was rushed to hospital. Around 10.30 am, four armed assailants entered the store shortly after it opened. They pointed guns at the staff and tried to steal jewellery. When the workers resisted, one of the robbers fired, injuring a staff member in the leg. The robbers also reportedly fired at a CCTV camera before fleeing the shop.

In a statement, Chandanagar police said: "In a robbery attempt at Khazana Jewellery in Chandanagar, around 3 to 4 offenders attempted robbery with weapons. They also fired at one person in the leg. The injured has been shifted to hospital and there is no property loss as per preliminary information. We will update soon."
