NEW DELHI: India secured two gold medals and one silver at the Asian Archery Championships in compound archery on Thursday, with the women's team and mixed team clinching victories while the men's team finished second.The women's team comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Deepshikha, and Prithika Pradeep claimed gold by defeating Korea 236-234. The team demonstrated exceptional precision with scores of 59 and 58 in their final ends.In the mixed team event, Abhishek Verma and Deepshikha earned India's second gold by overcoming Bangladesh 153-151. The duo maintained steady performance with consistent 38-point ends throughout the match.The men's team of Abhishek Verma, Sahil Rajesh Jadhav, and Prathamesh Bhalchandra Fuge narrowly missed gold, losing to Kazakhstan 229-230. The Kazakh team of Dilmukhamet Mussa, Bunyod Mirzametov, and Andrey Tyutyun prevailed in a close contest.The women's trio outperformed the Korean team of Park Yerin, Oh Yoohyun, and Jungyoon Park with near-perfect shooting. Their impressive ends included scores of 59 (10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 10) and 58 (10, 10, 10, 9, 10, 9).The mixed team displayed remarkable consistency under pressure, with both archers scoring identical 38-point ends (10, 9, 10, 9 and 9, 10, 9, 10) to secure their victory.
