has introduced new ownership plans aimed at making its
electric scooters
more affordable. The Bengaluru-based EV maker has introduced a
Battery-as-a-Service
(BaaS) subscription, an extended buyback programme, and a comprehensive warranty package, targeting three big concerns for buyers:
high upfront cost
, uncertain resale value, and long-term maintenance.
Ather Rizta, 450 e-scooters: BaaS details
With the BaaS model, customers no longer need to pay for the scooter and battery together. Instead, they can purchase the Ather Rizta starting at Rs 75,999 and the 450 Series from Rs 84,341, ex-showroom, and subscribe to the battery separately. The battery usage is billed through monthly plans, starting at Rs 1 per kilometre on a 48-month package, with a minimum commitment of 1,000 km a month. To sweeten the deal, Ather is offering one year of free access to its
fast-charging network
for BaaS subscribers.
