Austin Reaves might’ve just pulled off something we’ve never seen in NBA history.

After the Los Angeles Lakers’ 130–120 win over the Miami Heat on Sunday, the guard reflected on what could be a first-of-its-kind moment: throwing an alley-oop to both LeBron James and his son, Bronny.

Midway through the second quarter, Reaves found Bronny streaking down the lane on a fast break and floated up a perfect lob. The rookie soared for a two-handed jam that sent the crowd and the Lakers’ bench into a frenzy.

It wasn’t just a highlight; it was what Reaves believes is history in motion.

“I’ve got to be the first person in NBA history to throw a father a lob and a son a lob," Reaves told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin postgame. “It’s got to be, right? While they’re still on the same team. It was cool. I told Bron as soon as I checked out after that, it was a pretty special moment."

Reaves wasn’t wrong. The play symbolized a once-in-a-generation full-circle moment: from tossing lobs to LeBron, the league’s elder statesman, to connecting with his own son, the rookie.

The night got even sweeter for the Lakers, who extended their win streak to three. Luka Doncic logged yet another triple-double (29 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists), while Reaves himself tallied 26 points and 11 assists in a dazzling all-around display.

Bronny, meanwhile, made the most of his 18 minutes, scoring just two points (the dunk) but adding three steals and two assists in a gritty showing that impressed head coach JJ Redick.

With key players like Gabe Vincent still sidelined, Bronny’s energy and defense could earn him more meaningful minutes in the games to come.
