Few of the outlets in Telangana which supply Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to autos, non-operational earlier, were brought back to service. While appreciating private companies for augmenting the supplies, Civil Supplies Department Commissioner M. Stephen Raveendra expressed concern regarding the limited or negligible progress made by certain other private marketing companies (PMC).
A review meeting with PMCs — dealing with auto LPG — was held by the senior official in Hyderabad on Tuesday (April 7), as a follow-up to the earlier meeting conducted at the beginning of the month.
There are 116 auto LPG outlets within Outer Ring Road (ORR) and 27 outside it. As per data from March 30, 25 outlets were non-functional, including 17 in the core city. As per latest information, services were restored at 17 previously non-functional outlets.
Mr. Raveendra said that maintaining an uninterrupted supply is critical to safeguarding the livelihoods of auto drivers and directed all PMCs to remain fully committed to the objective. The department continues to monitor the outlets and product receipts daily.
