Aviation regulator DGCA has issued a show-cause notice to IndiGo regarding alleged lapses in simulator training for nearly 1,700 pilots. The notice was issued after scrutiny of records and replies received from the airline. The DGCA flagged that simulators used for training were not qualified for operations at certain airports. This raises questions about whether these pilots were adequately trained for all possible terrains and conditions via these simulator trainings. IndiGo has confirmed receipt of the show-cause notice from the DGCA. The airline has been given 14 days to respond to the notice. IndiGo states it will respond to the authority within the stipulated time and continues to claim that it has been maintaining all required standards. The response from IndiGo is awaited.
