Avinashi Road flyover work: Traffic diversion announced in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore police have announced traffic diversions in the city from July 9 to 13 to facilitate the completion of the Avinashi Road flyover work near Hopes College.In a press release, the police said the construction of the 10.1km flyover on the Avinashi Road, stretching from Uppilipalayam to Goldwins, is nearing completion. As the final phase involves connecting the flyover by installing a steel composite girder over the railway bridge near Hopes College, all vehicles will be prohibited from travelling between Pioneer Mill Junction and Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) from 1pm to 6am, from July 9 to 13.Heavy vehicles and all buses, including omnibuses, leaving Coimbatore city should turn right at Lakshmi Mill Junction and proceed via Ramanathapuram, Singanallur, Ondipudur and the LT Bypass Road or via GP Signal, Ganapathy, Saravanampatti, Vilangurichi and Kalapatti to reach the Avinashi Road and their respective destinations.All two-wheelers and cars leaving the city should turn left at Pioneer Mill Junction and proceed via Rottikadai Maidanam, Gandhi Nagar, Thanneerpandal and Tidel Park to reach the Avinashi Road.

Heavy vehicles and all buses, including omnibuses, entering the city should turn right at Thottipalayam and proceed via Kalapatti, Vilangurichi and Saravanampatti. Alternatively, they can take a U-turn at SITRA Junction and proceed via the Kalapatti Road, the Naal Road, Vilangurichi and Saravanampatti or enter the city via the LT Bypass Road from Neelambur through Chinthamanipudur, Ondipudur, Singanallur and Ramanathapuram.Two-wheelers and cars entering the city should turn right at SITRA Junction, CODISSIA Junction or CMC Junction and proceed via Tidel Park, Thanneerpandal, Gandhi Nagar and Rottikadai Maidanam to reach the Avinashi Road. Vehicles heading to Singanallur should avoid the Avinashi Road. Instead, they should proceed via the LT Bypass Road, Chinthamanipudur and Ondipudur.All vehicles entering the city via Hopes from Singanallur should proceed via Perks School, GV Residency and Fun Mall to reach Pioneer Mill Junction and then continue via Gandhi Nagar and Thanneerpandal to reach the Avinashi Road. Alternatively, they can reach the Avinashi Road via Ondipudur, the LT Bypass Road and Neelambur.
