Pune police have detained gangster Bandu Andekar and six others from outside Maharashtra in connection with the murder of Ayush Komkar

Police said the killing appeared to be an act of revenge for the murder of former corporator Vanraj on 1 September 2024, in which Komkar’s father, Ganesh Komkar — Vanraj’s brother-in-law — is a co-accused.Additional commissioner of police (Crime) Pankaj Deshmukh confirmed the detention of Andekar and six others, including a woman, and said the team was bringing them to Pune. A senior officer added that the suspects had fled to southern states to evade arrest.Police have already arrested two men, including one of the assailants, on Saturday. The Samarth police have registered a case of murder and criminal conspiracy against Andekar and others, including three of his relatives.
