Ayyappa Sangamam a pre-election gimmick of LDF: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar has accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of indulging in a pre-election gimmick by organising the Global Ayyappa Sangamam.

In a press release on Friday (September 19, 2025), he alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is now trying to fool people by pretending to be pro-Hindu after years of abusing the faith of Ayyappa devotees and enforcing policies that tried to destroy the culture and traditions of Sabarimala.

BJP State general secretary M.T. Ramesh alleged that the Ayyappa Sangamam will turn into a political conclave of the LDF. The State government has failed to answer the questions raised by the High Court regarding the organising of the Sangamam. The community organisations and leaders should see through the political agenda of the LDF, he said.
