, hit theatres on October 31. The film opened well over the weekend but witnessed a sharp drop in collections on its first Monday.As per trade website Sacnilk, ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ earned an estimated ₹1.35 crore net in India on Monday, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹25.7 crore. The film had a strong start, making ₹1.15 crore from Thursday premieres and ₹9.65 crore on Friday. It further collected ₹7.25 crore on Saturday and ₹6.3 crore on Sunday. However, on day four (Monday), the numbers dropped to ₹1.65 crore.In comparison, ‘Thamma’, now in its second Monday, earned around ₹1.50 crore.
The total collection of ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ has now reached ₹26 crore.Globally, the film managed ₹39.75 crore over its first weekend. While a weekday dip is normal, it remains to be seen if the film can hold steady through the week. For reference, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2015) made ₹650 crore worldwide, and ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017) grossed ₹1788.06 crore.Released with big expectations, ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ even teased an upcoming animated story titled ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’, reportedly made on a ₹120 crore budget. The latest film has performed better in the South, where Rajamouli enjoys a massive fan following. However, in the Hindi market, it continues to face competition from ‘Thamma’, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ and ‘The Taj Story’.
