Ahead of 'Baahubali: The Epic's' re-release, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati recalled director SS Rajamouli's demanding discipline, even refusing Prabhas a short holiday. The team also revisited the grueling 70-day shoot for the iconic war sequence, highlighting the cast's dedication to the global blockbuster's success.

'Baahubali: The Epic' is hitting the theatres this week. Ahead of its release, SS Rajamouli, with lead stars Prabhas and Rana Daggubati sat down chatting and revisiting some unforgettable moments of the film.

During the conversation, the Rebel Star shared how the director didn't even allow him to take a three-day holiday.

Prabhas reveals Rajamouli's strict approach on set

During the discussion, Prabhas shared about SS Rajamouli's disciplined and demanding approach as a director. The 'Kalki 2898 AD' actor recalled how the filmmaker once refused to let him take a short three-day vacation to Bali in the middle of the film's hectic shooting schedule. Laughing, Prabhas said, "Rajamouli sir didn’t even allow me to take a three-day holiday. He was so strict. But honestly, Baahubali wouldn't have happened the way it did if he wasn't like that."Rajamouli responded with a chuckle, saying the cast was making him sound like a dictator on set. But Prabhas and Rana both agreed that his discipline and precision were what made 'Baahubali' the global blockbuster it became.

70 days of shooting for the iconic war sequence

The trio also revisited the mammoth Mahishmati–Kalakeya war sequence from 'Baahubali: The Beginning', which took an exhausting 70 days to shoot. Rajamouli shared that the entire sequence was filmed in one long schedule without a single break.

"No holidays, no pauses — we shot the entire battle continuously," the filmmaker said.He recalled how both Prabhas and Rana had to constantly work out between shots to maintain their muscular physiques for the intense battle scenes.'The Raja Saab' also shared how challenging the shoot was, especially for the actors playing the Kalakeya tribe members. "They were wearing black sweaters in the month of May during outdoor shoots. It was really tough for them," he said.Now, the combined version of the two, 'The Beginning and The Conclusion' is set to release on October 31.The 'Baahubali' series also stars Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, and Ramya Krishnan.
