A 10-day-old infant was received in the Ammathottil cradle of the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare at Thycaud here early Wednesday.
The infant, weighing approximately 3.3 kg, was given a preliminary examination and then taken to Women and Children Hospital, Thycaud, for a detailed medical check-up where she was found healthy.
The girl child was named Ithal, council general secretary G.L. Arun Gopi said in a statement.
Nine children (six girls, three boys) have been received by the council here from October till now.
Anyone claiming the child should contact the council at the earliest as her adoption procedures have to be initiated, Mr. Arun Gopi said.
