Doha, a member of the rookie K-pop boy group BAE173, filed a complaint against his management agency only a few days ago. The idol issued a lawsuit in order to terminate his contract with the company.
Now, his management agency has also issued an official notice about the matter.
Company responds to BAE173’s Doha complaint for contract termination
As per reports by Allkpop, the management company issued its own notice addressing the matter after it was revealed that Doha had filed a complaint against them for the invalidity of his contract. They confirmed the news in their statement; however, they also added that they have been paying the idol in installments and that his complaint is not valid. Their statement also read, “We have been sending quarterly settlement reports to BAE173 members via email. Doha has also been receiving them, and in April 2025, his guardian requested a change of email address.” They further shared that the request and the reports were not immediately addressed due to an employee’s resignation. The request was made in April, whereas the official reports were shared with the idol in October, as per the statement.
The idol had also filed a complaint regarding the treatment he had been receiving from the company, alleging that they forced him to go on a hiatus. The company addressed this as well and alleged that the action was taken due to the singer’s “insincere attitude and unpredictable behavior.” They further added that, “At a recent fan event, he left his seat without prior notice and used profanity, causing an unpleasant scene in front of the fans.
Doha made unreasonable demands, such as insisting that we deduct days when he didn’t have a manager working with him. Managers are full-time employees, and his lack of understanding of the employment structure made his request impossible to accept.”They also added in the statement that Doha’s behaviour in the company had caused a lot of employees distress. Many had even issued complaints about the matter to the specific team within the organisation itself as well.
What happened
A few days ago, it was reported that the idol had filed an official complaint against his management agency. As per reports from THE FACT’, the idol was seeking to validate the “non-existence of his exclusive contract and an injunction to suspend its validity.” The reasoning behind the case was given on the basis of unpaid dues, underwhelming treatment, the company’s financial issues, as well as a ‘forced’ hiatus from group activities as well.
