'Balan' brings together the core creative team behind Manjummel Boys, the 2024 blockbuster that went on to win Best Film at the 55th Kerala State Awards, which were announced recently.Cinematographer Shyju Khalid, composer Sushin Shyam, and production designer Ajayan Chalissery are all reuniting for this new venture.
With the same technical crew for 'Manjummel Boys' teaming up, the expectations are quite high for 'Balan.' Now the fans are eagerly waiting for an official confirmation on whether Tovino Thomas is part of the project.
A fresh cast
'Balan' is said to feature a completely new cast of newcomers, chosen through extensive auditions. The first-look poster, which was unveiled earlier, showed the back of a young boy holding a wooden stick against a floral backdrop.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Tovino Thomas was last seen in the Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer actioner 'Lokah.' Tovino Thomas and Dulquer Salmaan made special appearances in Dominic Arun's directorial as the characters Chathan and Odiyan. Recently the makers also announced the second part for 'Lokah,' which will feature Tovino Thomas' character in the lead.On the other hand, Tovino Thomas and the 'Jana Gana Mana' director Dijo Jose Antony are teaming up for the most awaited film, 'Pallichattambi.' Kayadu Lohar, of 'Dragon' fame, will be playing the female lead in the movie.
