Bank Holidays 2025: On Monday, May 26, banks in Tripura (capital: Agartala) will be closed to mark Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birth anniversary, a well-known figure in Bengali literature and India’s freedom movement. However, this closure is not observed nationwide, and banks in the remaining states will continue to open as usual.

Bank holidays in India are outlined by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), including the Negotiable Instruments Act, RTGS holidays, and other regional and national holidays, in addition to the mandatory weekly off on the second Saturday and Sunday of every month.
