Harry Kane’s future at Bayern Munich is once again under the spotlight, with reports suggesting the England captain is seriously considering a move to Barcelona next summer.

According to SPORT, Kane’s representatives have already been in touch with Barcelona, alongside several top clubs across Europe and beyond.

While no formal offer has been made, sources suggest there is genuine mutual interest between the player and the Catalan giants.

When Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, he negotiated a number of release clauses into his contract, including a €65 million (£57.1m, $75.1m) exit clause that becomes active in the summer of 2026 if he notifies Bayern of his intent to leave in January.

For a striker of Kane’s calibre, such a figure makes him an attainable target for Europe’s elite. Barcelona, eager to rejuvenate their attack, are reportedly eyeing the 2026–27 season as a transition point, with Robert Lewandowski’s contract set to expire and no plans for an extension.

Club officials are believed to be assessing multiple options, including Erling Haaland, Dusan Vlahović, Julián Álvarez, and rising talent Karl Etta Eyong.

Kane’s experience and proven goal-scoring pedigree, however, make him an especially attractive short-term solution as the Blaugrana return to a newly renovated Camp Nou next season.

That said, a move for the 31-year-old is far from straightforward. The clause requires formal notification from Kane in January for it to take effect, and the striker has publicly played down exit speculation, even hinting at the possibility of a new contract at Bayern.

If he does decide to leave, though, Barcelona will face stiff competition.

Former club Tottenham Hotspur, several Saudi Pro League sides, and other European heavyweights are expected to join the chase for one of football’s most consistent finishers.
