Mysuru: Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO) will organise a blood donation camp on June 13, from 10am to 5pm, on its premises to mark National Cancer Survivors Day.The initiative aims to raise awareness about cancer survivorship and encourage voluntary blood donation for patients undergoing treatment and others needing lifesaving transfusions.National Cancer Survivors Day is observed worldwide to honour the courage, resilience and achievements of cancer survivors, while recognising the support provided by families, caregivers and healthcare professionals throughout their journey.Dr Avinash CB, chief medical oncologist at BHIO, called upon the public to participate in the camp. “Be the reason someone survives. Cancer survivors are living proof that hope is stronger than cancer.”Gowtham Dhamerla, chief operating officer of BHIO, said donated blood is a vital resource in cancer care and appealed to eligible donors, students, employees, social organisation workers and members of the public to participate in the noble cause.Those who want to donate blood can contact 9012112190.
