In Bhopal's TT Nagar, a 40-year-old security guard, Balchandra Sondhiya, tragically ended his life by shooting himself with his licensed rifle after midnight on Saturday. The extreme step was allegedly taken following a dispute with his wife, from whom he was living separately.
BHOPAL: A 40-year-old man, a security guard, allegedly shot himself with his licensed rifle and died by suicide past midnight on Saturday in the TT Nagar locality. He took the extreme step allegedly after a dispute with his wife.
Acting on information from the neighbours, TT Nagar police registered a case and started investigations.ACP (TT Nagar) Ankita Khatarkar said that the deceased, Balchandra Sondhiya, 40, a resident of Chakki Chouraha in TT Nagar, worked as a security guard. There was an ongoing dispute between him and his wife, due to which he resided alone while his wife lived separately nearby with her two children.The ACP said that preliminary investigations revealed that on Friday night, Balchandra's wife came to meet him at his home.
She left after a dispute. Past midnight, around 12.20 am, Balchandra shot himself with his licensed rifle. Neighbours heard the gunshot and rushed out. They informed the police about the incident.Acting on information, TT Nagar police reached the spot and recovered the body. The neighbours informed that the deceased was addicted to liquor and assaulted his wife in an inebriated condition, due to which she resided separately. Further investigations are ongoing.
