BHOPAL: A 17-year-old school student was allegedly attacked with a knife by 4 youths in the Bairagarh area on Tuesday night after he objected to them drinking inside a car parked in front of his father’s shop.He suffered severe cuts on his head and thigh. The injured boy was admitted to hospital and is undergoing treatment. Acting on information, Bairagarh police registered a case on charges of attempt to commit culpable homicide and traced the accused on Tuesday on the basis of their car registration number. The accused were paraded in the area.According to police, the complainant, a class 11 student and resident of the Machhli Market area in Bairagarh, was at his father’s bag shop near SBI Bank around 9.15 pm while his father stepped out for some work.
When he was closing the shop, a car carrying 4 youths stopped in front of the shop. The occupants allegedly began consuming beer while seated inside the vehicle.After some time, the student asked them to remove the car from in front of the shop and drink elsewhere. This reportedly led to an argument, during which the youths began abusing him. When the boy objected to the abusive language, the accused started assaulting him.
During the dispute, 1 of the accused allegedly attacked him with a knife. He sustained severe cuts on the left side of his head and thigh and began bleeding profusely.The attackers fled the spot in the car soon after the assault. The student was rushed to hospital, where doctors found 3 deep stab wounds on his body.SHO Ashok Gautam said that the accused came to Bairagarh for shopping. They borrowed a car from their friend. After shopping, they were returning and purchased beers to drink in the car when the dispute took place.
