BHU's initiative for effective and prompt resolution of sensitive student issues

VARANASI: To effectively and promptly resolve sensitive issues related to students, Banaras Hindu University has launched a new initiative. A committee has been formed at the university level to establish a standard operating procedure (SOP) for addressing the issues raised by students.According to the BHU spokesperson, following the established SOP, the concerned institution/faculty/department will take further action and inform the concerned student at the faculty level. If no agreement is reached, higher authorities will be notified by the concerned department. This entire process will be completed in a timely manner, ensuring that such issues are resolved at the institution/faculty/department level to prevent any protests.He said that BHU continuously strives to maintain a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research, allowing students to focus their energy on academic activities while fostering a harmonious atmosphere between students and administration.Prof. H. K. Singh, Head of the Commerce Faculty, was appointed as the committee's chairman. The chief proctor, dean of students, coordinator, legal cell, chairman of the student disciplinary action committee, and senior teachers or student advisors from the concerned department/faculty will be included as members. The assistant registrar (teaching) was appointed as the member secretary of the committee.
