Bodies of 3 students found floating in Ganga in Uttar Pradesh

VARANASI: Chaos erupted in the villages of Sawan Chhapra and Bechan Chhapra in the Dokati police station area of Ballia district on Friday when the bodies of three minor students were found floating in the Ganga.

The news spread like wildfire, and scores of villagers gathered at the Jagdishpur Ghat. The police sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.

According to reports, Vinay Gond (14) and Sandeep Gond (15), both residents of Sawan Chhapra, along with Wasim (15) from Bechan Chhapra, left on bicycles on Thursday, claiming they were going to tuition classes in Bhojapur. When the three students did not return home by evening, their families began searching for them. Around 6pm, someone informed the families after finding abandoned bicycles, shorts, vests, and a bag with notebooks bearing their names at the Jagdishpur Ghat.Upon receiving this news, the families were struck with shock. The parents of the three students arrived at the ghat, crying uncontrollably upon seeing their children's belongings. It was suspected that although the friends left for tuition, they might have gone to bathe in the Ganga instead and drowned.

As soon as the matter came to light, SDM Bairia Alok Pratap Singh, CO Bairia Mohd Faheem Qureshi, and Dokati Station Officer Harishankar Singh, along with the police force, reached the scene. The search for the students began, but no success was achieved. On Friday morning, the bodies of the three students were found floating in the Ganga.
