Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is reportedly hosting a dinner for all cabinet ministers on October 13, sources revealed.
During discussions with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) high command, the Chief Minister reportedly indicated plans to undertake a cabinet reshuffle in November, after completing 2.5 years of his tenure.
According to sources, the Chief Minister aims to drop 50 per cent of current ministers and bring in new faces. Party insiders believe that inducting around 15 new ministers in November could make it difficult for the high command to replace the Chief Minister immediately, as a fresh cabinet would already be in place.
The reshuffle, planned strategically after the Bihar elections, appears designed to consolidate the Chief Minister’s position within the party ahead of potential leadership decisions.
Speculation about a leadership change in Karnataka has been circulating within the Congress party. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and many other leaders have hinted at a potential change of leadership after 2.5 years, raising questions about Siddaramaiah's tenure.
Despite these speculations, the Congress party has maintained that there would be no leadership change in Karnataka. Party leaders have emphasised that decisions regarding leadership will be made by the high command.
