Bihar Assembly Election 2025 Live Updates: Prashant Kishor alleged that three candidates of his Jan Suraaj Party in Bihar polls withdrew nomination under ‘pressure’ from the ruling coalition’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Kishor urged Election Commission to ensure security of candidates in the poll-bound state. Last week his party announced its second list of candidates, for 65 constituencies, taking the total number of declared nominees to 116 out of the state’s 243 seats.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced that the party will not contest the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar, accusing INDIA bloc allies Congress and RJD of failing to uphold coalition “dharma”. JMM leader Sudeep Kumar Sonu made the announcement at a press conference in Jharkhand’s Giridih. This comes just two days after JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said on Saturday that the party would contest six seats in Bihar, breaking away from the Mahagathbandhan — the alliance in Bihar that includes the Congress and the RJD.

Chirag Paswan predicts NDA’s clean sweep in polls: Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Monday predicted a decisive victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, while taking a sharp dig at the opposition Mahagathbandhan over its seat-sharing discord. Speaking to reporters in Patna, Paswan dismissed the idea of a friendly contest between the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress and said, “There is nothing called as friendly fight, either you are friends or fighting with each other. The friendly conflict does not happen in politics; this is wrong terminology.”
