The Bihar Assembly elections intensify with BJP and JD(U) contesting 101 seats each, LJP 29, and HAM-RLM 2.
The nomination process for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections has picked up pace, with political parties announcing their candidates across constituencies. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the names of its candidates for all 101 constituencies it is contesting, following seat-sharing agreement with ally Janata Dal (United).
As per the alliance formula, both the BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each in Bihar election, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will field candidates on 29 seats, and Hindustani Awam Morcha-Rashtriya Lok Morcha (HAM-RLM) will contest two.
On the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) is yet to officially announce its seat-sharing arrangement, though internal negotiations are said to be in the final stages. The Jan Suraj Party, led by former bureaucrat and MP Pavan Varma, has released two lists comprising a total of 117 candidates. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also entered the fray, releasing two lists with several nominees, signalling its intent to expand beyond Delhi and Punjab.
As the battle lines are drawn across Bihar’s 243 Assembly constituencies, competition is intensifying in several key districts such as Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, and Bhagalpur.
