Former Bihar Minister and expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has announced his candidacy for the Mahua constituency in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

He will contest as the official candidate of the newly formed Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD), a political party he founded following his expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) earlier this year.

The JJD released its list of candidates on Monday for the upcoming elections, with Tej Pratap Yadav set to file his nomination from Mahua on October 16.

Speaking to the media earlier, Tej Pratap stated that the party intends to field candidates across Bihar. Addressing speculation about the next Chief Minister, he said, “Whoever will be Bihar’s CM will be decided by the people."

Tej Pratap further stated that he will seek guidance from his spiritual mentor in Vrindavan before formally submitting his election nomination. Highlighting his focus on Mahua, he said, “We have already established a medical college here, now we aim to upgrade Mahua into a full-fledged district."
