Despite the Karnataka High Court’s clarification, bike taxi services continued to operate in Bengaluru on Friday evening.
Checks by The Hindu around 9.30 p.m. revealed that Ola, Rapido, and Uber were still offering bookings for bike taxis within the city. When contacted regarding the continued operations and the court’s clarification, spokespersons of Uber and Rapido declined to respond, while Ola could not be reached for a comment.
Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy told The Hindu that action would be initiated against aggregators if they were operating. “If they continue to run services despite the court’s clarification, it amounts to contempt,” he said.
