Four students of a private engineering college in Bengaluru, who went to have biryani at Hoskote, were allegedly kidnapped and robbed by a gang of men in the early hours of December 21. The Avalahalli police have arrested one of the accused and are searching for the others.

According to the police, the students had gone to Hoskote to have biryani. They were returning around 5.30 a.m. when they were intercepted near Kada Agrahara village by a gang. The gang allegedly forced the students into a shed near Medahalli, where they were robbed.

The accused reportedly snatched three mobile phones, ₹40,000 in cash, and also transferred ₹1.10 lakh through an UPI app from the accounts of the students before letting them go.
