'Bit her face, neck and head': Mentally ill woman killed by stray dogs in Uttar Pradesh; officials told to relocate dogs involved

BAREILLY: A 45-year-old mentally ill woman was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Mitauli area of UP's Lakhimpur Kheri on Wednesday evening.A resident of Piyara village, the woman was walking towards the fields when she came across dogs feeding on a dead animal. Locals said the dogs turned on her, biting her neck, face and head. With no one nearby to help, she died on the spot. Police said her mental health had deteriorated after her husband's death. She lived with her uncle in the village. Mitauli SHO Shivaji Dubey said, "The woman was severely bitten. The family declined a postmortem examination and did not file a complaint. Nagar Panchayat officials have been asked to catch and relocate the stray dogs involved." Kanwardeep Singh
