BJP demands removal of Dinesh Gundu Rao as Minister in charge of Dakshina Kannada

Accusing Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao of failing to maintain law and order in Dakshina Kannada district, the BJP unit of Shivamogga district has demanded that he be removed as Minister in charge of that district.

In a press release, BJP district president Jagadish N.K. said Mr. Rao had failed in delivering his duties as Minister in charge of Dakshina Kannada district. As the Superintendent of Police and the Police Commissioner of Mangaluru had been transferred, the Minister in charge of the district should also be removed from the post.

Taking exception to Mr. Rao’s recent remarks following the murder of a Muslim youth, Mr. Jagadish asked why Mr. Rao was silent when Suhas Shetty was murdered. He also questioned on what grounds Mr. Rao stated that many more people could be murdered in the district.
